Athletic events do not fall into the category of Nascar driving, competitive eating and spelling bees. They do not because they are not physically fit, and they are not using body to their advantage.
Your definition needs to state what athletic events are, not what they are not. If you list what it isn't, that would be under your argument. Your thesis should be "Athletic events are ____ because ____."
Instead of telling me what a sport is not, try the other approach. Use those examples like nascar, but identify what a sport is before you identify what it is not.
Its good that you are saying what athletic events are not, but then what are they? It makes you definition clearer, more specific, and more arguable.
ReplyDeleteYour thesis should be only one sentence.
